Ask People a Question from Claude & ChatGPT — Answe AI Connector
Introduction
Answe is a question-and-answer platform: you ask a question, people answer it, and you get the answers back. With the official Answe connector your AI assistant can do the asking for you — in the conversation, in seconds, no Answe account needed to start.
Say what you need to know and from whom — "ask my team whether Tuesday at 10 works for the kickoff", "make an RSVP for Friday's dinner", "let customers book a table at Kalle's Bistro" — and the assistant creates a live question page signed with your name. You get back:
- A share link — send it to the people who should answer; it works right away in chat, email, a bio or a QR code
- An owner link — open it to watch answers arrive live, share with one tap and edit the question (private: it is your key to the question)
- A claim link — open it to save the question onto your own free Answe link, so answers also land in your inbox and in the Answe app
- An embed code — optional: paste it into your website to show the question there
Then ask the assistant "what did they answer?" — it reads the answers back into the chat: who chose what, with any details they typed.
The connector works with any AI app that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The server URL is:
https://www.answe.com/mcp
Set Up in Claude
Works on every Claude plan, including Free (Free accounts can add one custom connector).
- Open claude.ai → Settings → Connectors (also available in the Claude desktop app).
- Click Add custom connector.
- Name it Answe and paste the URL
https://www.answe.com/mcp. No authentication is needed. - Start a new chat and make sure the Answe connector is enabled in the tools menu below the message box.
Set Up in ChatGPT
Available on ChatGPT Pro, Plus, and Business plans, on the web.
- Go to Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode.
- Go to the Plugins page and click the + (Create) button.
- Name it Answe, set the server URL to
https://www.answe.com/mcp(including the/mcppath), and set Authentication to No authentication. Accept the custom-server notice and click Create. - Open your personal plugins, find Answe, and install it with the + button.
- In a chat, enable the Answe plugin from the tools menu, then ask away. ChatGPT may ask you to confirm the first time it asks a question — that's its standard permission prompt for actions.
Set Up in Claude Code & Claude Cowork (Plugin)
For Claude Code (the terminal coding agent) and Claude Cowork (the desktop workspace), Answe ships an official plugin that bundles the connector plus a skill that knows how to word a good question, read the answers back — and, in Claude Code, how to embed the question straight into the website project you have open.
Claude Code:
/plugin marketplace add answecom/answe-claude-plugin
/plugin install answe@answe
Claude Cowork: open Customize (sidebar) → Plugins → Add marketplace → enter https://github.com/answecom/answe-claude-plugin → install Answe.
Once installed, either just say what you need to know, or invoke the skill directly:
/answe:ask-people post-event feedback from our team offsite
What to Ask
Describe who should answer and what you need to know — the assistant designs the question, answer buttons, form fields, and confirmation messages for you. Examples:
- "Ask the team whether Tuesday at 10 works for the kickoff, and tell me when they've answered."
- "Make an RSVP for our summer party with a dietary preferences field."
- "I run a coworking space — let customers book meeting rooms."
- "Create a table reservation question for my restaurant, Kalle's Bistro."
- "Ask the workshop participants how it went, their favorite session and suggestions."
Mention your name or business and the question will be signed with it.
Reading the Answers
Ask the assistant "has anyone answered?" or "what did they say?". It reads the answers back — each person's choice plus any form fields — and can wait for a reply while you talk. If you asked several questions, say which one. In a new conversation, paste the owner link you kept and the assistant finds the question from it. You also see every answer live on the owner link, and after claiming, in your chat inbox and the Answe app, where every answer is a conversation you can continue.
For Agents and Developers
The same connector is a plain MCP server an agent can use on its own: ask a human something and get a structured answer back.
ask— asks the question; returnsshare_url,question_id,answers_token,owner_url,claim_urlandembed_code. Passasker_nameso respondents see who is asking. Pass an optionalnotify_urlto receive every answer as a signedanswer.createdPOST instead of polling.get_answers— reads the answers with theanswers_token(thequestion_idis optional; the owner link pasted as-is also works).wait_seconds(up to 25) waits for a new answer before returning;sincereturns only answers after a timestamp (pass backlatest_answer_at). Loop untilpendingis false.get_question— status, answer count and links. Never returns the token.- With an Answe API key on the connection (
Authorization: Bearer ansk_…, created at answe.com/account):get_answersreads any question in the account, andlist_questionsandget_datasetappear.
Once a question is claimed, the token stops working and the account's API key takes over. See the API Reference for the REST API and webhooks.
Claiming Your Question
The question works and collects answers immediately, but it belongs to a temporary guest profile until you claim it:
- Open the claim link the assistant gave you (keep it private — whoever opens it can claim the question).
- If you are signed in, the question moves to your account right away. Otherwise you get a short signup — Claim your Answe link: enter your email, verify the one-time code and name your page (your username becomes your link, answe.com/your-username).
- The question — including any answers it already received — moves into your account and is listed on your page. You land on answe.com/your-username with the question live, ready to share by link, WhatsApp, Instagram bio, email or QR code. Answers appear in your chat inbox and in the Answe app, and you can edit the question, add actions, take payments, or manage reservations like any other question.
Each claim link works once. Unclaimed questions may be removed after about 30 days, so claim yours to keep it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it safe to add the connector? The connector can ask a new question, read the answers to a question it asked (with the token it was given), and check a question's status. It cannot read your files, your conversations, or any other Answe account data, and it requires no login or API key.
Do I need an Answe account? Not to ask and share a question or read its answers. You need a free account only when you claim it — that puts the question on your link and connects answers to your inbox.
How many questions can I ask? Asking is rate-limited to 10 questions per hour. If you need more, claim your questions and continue in the Answe app, where your own account limits apply.
Can I edit a question the assistant asked? Yes — after claiming it, edit it in Answe like any question you built yourself: change copy, add form fields, attach actions, or connect payments.
Which Claude surfaces are supported? All of them: claude.ai and the Claude apps via the connector, and Claude Code and Claude Cowork via the plugin. In Claude, Claude Desktop, and Cowork you'll also see a live preview of your question rendered right inside the conversation.
